FAQs

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!

What’s a Cycle Boat?

The Cycle Boat is a 30-foot catamaran driven by a sizable rear paddle and energized by the pedaling of our passengers! With 10 pedaling stations encircling a spacious mahogany bar, cozy bench seats, two ample coolers, and a canopy, each Cycle Boat offers a delightful experience on the water.

What's the maximum number of friends I can bring on your pedal boat?

Most likely all of them! Each of our boats can host up to 16 guests per cruise.

I don't have a large circle of friends. What if there are only a few of us?

We have many booking options to cater to groups of all sizes. Ticket prices depend on season. Click here to see the breakdown.

What's the duration of our time out on the water?

The tours span a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes from beginning to end, plus a brief safety demonstration at the dock. Following your booking, you'll receive an email containing your boarding details

How do I book a tour?

To reserve a tour, simply click the book now button or call 607-339-2906. Next, choose your preferred date and time, and select either a full boat or individual tickets. You can complete your purchase using a credit card, and please remember to carefully read and sign your waiver!

The tour has been confirmed! Where is the designated meeting location?

Our boat is located on the Public Pier in Watkins Glen which is located within the Seneca Harbor Park.

What if the weather is uncertain on the day of my cruise?

Our canopy enables us to operate in various weather conditions, whether rain or shine. However, in the event of severe weather conditions such as thunderstorms or strong winds, the captain reserves the right to cancel the tour for the safety of our passengers. Cancellations will be handled similarly to a "Baseball Game" at the scheduled departure time. In the case of a captain's cancellation, passengers will be provided with a rain check at the time of departure.

What if I have to cancel my reservation what happens?

Here's our cancellation policy breakdown:

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance will result in a full refund.

  • For cancellations made between 4 and 13 days before the cruise, guests will receive a gift certificate for future use.

  • No-shows and cancellations made less than 4 days before the cruise are not eligible for a refund.

  • In the event of a trip cancellation by the captain due to severe weather conditions, rain checks will be issued to all guests.

  • Please note that booking fees are non-refundable.

I'm excited for our boat day! What should I bring along?

Essential ingredients for a fantastic time on our pedal boats include food, drinks, ice, and music. You can enhance the experience with decorations, coordinating outfits, or any other items that contribute to your enjoyment. Please keep in mind weather-appropriate outfits - as it is cooler on the water than it is on land.

We're allowed to consume drinks on the boat? That's fantastic!

Absolutely! Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are all permitted onboard. However, hard liquor is not permitted.

What about food?

Feel free to bring along snacks, charcuterie, sub trays, or anything else you desire. All options are welcome!

Are food and drinks provided by your service?

Apologies, but we strictly operate on a BYO (Bring Your Own) basis.

Am I allowed to tailgate at the dock?

According to our Good Neighbor Policy, all beverages, alcoholic or otherwise, must be consumed onboard.

Is there a bathroom on board?

While there isn't a restroom on board, we do schedule a pit stop midway through the tour for anyone needing a bathroom break. Additionally, restroom facilities are available at our dock.

Is it hard to pedal?

Nope. We're able to adjust the rear paddle to vary resistance levels. And the best part? No hills to contend with!

I'm not particularly keen on pedaling. Is it mandatory?

Certainly not! You have options. You can take turns pedaling while enjoying our comfortable benches, or we can completely forgo pedaling and rely solely on the motor.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

We welcome guests over the age of 5 but recommend 10 years and up. Children weighing under 75 lbs must wear a life vest while onboard. Additionally, passengers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult aged 25 or older at all times.

I'm interested in renting out the entire boat. Do you offer private party options?

Private events are our specialty! Whether it's for bachelorette parties, birthdays, corporate outings, or the ultimate Sunday Funday, you can rent one or both of our boats. Allow us to assist you in planning an unforgettable boat day! Get in touch with us to arrange your private event.

Hold on, am I responsible for operating the boat?

Absolutely not! You aren't permitted to operate the boat. All of our tours are led by US Coast Guard-certified captain. We have both a master captain and a first mate on board during each tour to ensure your safety.

Do I have to wear a life jacket?

Passengers under 75lbs will be required to wear a life jacket onboard and underway. Life jackets are supplied.

Are we allowed to give tips to the staff, or would that be considered awkward?

Did you have a fantastic experience? If you enjoyed your time with our crew, tipping is a wonderful way to express your appreciation. If not, please let us know how we can improve for next time.

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

We're eagerly looking forward to welcoming you on one of our tours! If you have any further questions or concerns that we haven't addressed here, feel free to reach out to us via email at flxcylceboats@gmail.com or phone at 607-339-2906
